Physical Being
Anastasia, the Sword Magess, is the Hero of the Blaze of Disaster. Together with the Holy Blade Argetlahm and Guardian of Desire Lucied, she sealed the Blaze of Disaster behind the Event Horizon. This is an important bit of Guardian Lore, but not just in Baskar. The Holy Sword sits in the Sword Cathedral, every boy dreams of being able to wield it. What I find most charming about Lucied is that he lives because Anastasia's desire to save the world is so strong that she summoned him and Argetlahm to her. She wanted the suffering and disaster to stop, her desire was so strong she gave Lucied a physical being. Lucied vowed to always protect and assist her. He is the only Guardian that has a will other than that of the collective will. He wants to save Filgaia, but not because he legitmately bellieves it's a good idea. He wants to save Filgaia because Anastasia wants to save Filgaia. This is a parallel to Tim and Pooka, who want to follow the will of the Guardians but on their own terms.
When I speak about "physical being" in this section, I am not referring to how similar Lucied and Pooka look. They share no physical features other than having physical bodies. My point is not to discuss the likeness of the two in any more than the idea that of all the guardians, spirits, and divine will within Filgaia, Pooka and Lucied rely on a human to give them form, shape their opinions, and sustain their lives. Both Lucied and Pooka can exist without a human, but their true power is drawn from the heart of humanity. This power then gives them a special physical body and form that give them ability to act, move, and react to the world around them. They can affect the events of those around them. I believe that initially, the will of the Guardians gave Pooka his physical form. However, through interactions and growing with Tim, I believe that Pooka maintains his physical form through the power of Tim's desire and love.
Although just a sub-spirit, Pooka has a physical form. He defines himself as the physical manifestation of the Guardians so that he can communicate with Tim. He needs to be a living, breathing, touchable creature to interact with Tim. The Guardians know this, this is exactly why Pooka is sent to the Pillar. This is an interesting concept because the Guardians have lost their physical forms. They do not have the ability to give themselves physical forms and cannot affect the world around them directly without the aid of a Pillar. The Guardians need Pooka and Tim to give them physical forms. In fact, only one Guardian in history has had a definitive physical form. Lucied is sustained and given physical form from a human based on the deisre of their hearts. Lucied is the only Guardian to do this. Pooka is not a gaurdian, not specifically. However, what if Pooa was the baby version of some future guardian? What if he draws life in similar ways to Lucied?
I would argue that Pooka's physical form is from the power and desire of Tim's heart. Much like Lucied relied on Anastasia, so too does Pooka rely on Tim. I feel that although Pooka is different than a Guardian he bears some striking resemblence to Lucied. Although Pooka wants to save Filgaia, he wants to save it in the way that Tim wants to save Filgaia. Even when Pooka does not have answers or ideas he believes that Tim will have them. He believes that Tim will make good choices and he dedicates and gives up his life for the idea that Tim is everything to him. Pooka believes in Tim, Pooka knows that Tim will support and love him. Pooka knows that Tim's desire will be what saves them in the end, and this is why he defends Tim when the Guardians get frustrated with him. Pooka, like Lucied, would do anything for the person that sustains them. I believe it is this base understanding and the love of the human and the human's love for them is what sustains their life and gives them physical form.
