Rey Point Wing
As part of the plan to save the world without sacrificing anyone, ARMs starts liberating Mana from the elemental Reypoints. Tim's specific reypoint is Reypoint Wing, or wind. This is where Tim and Pooka find their ultimate answers, face the truths, and understand that change and sacrifice are not always a bad thing. This is the absolute hardest section for me to write.
Pooka supports Tim in everything. Pooka understands very slowly that he has been developing a sense of self. He understands that once this happens he will no longer exist. He cannot exist because he is not longer a neutral vessel for the Guardians. Pooka keeps this fear to himself and he allows Tim to answer all of the questions, supporting him completely. When Reypoint Wing is asking Tim questions about how he intends to save the world, Tim reiterates his desire that the world cannot and should not be saved by sacrificing anyone. This is why he is at the Reypoint, he wants to create a beautiful and safe world for Collette and his friends. He wants to follow the Guardians will and protect Filgaia, he wants to do it without dying. Pooka supports Tim in this endeavor and he disappears into the Mana. He can no longer exist as Pooka because he has developed a desire to live and be with Tim.
When the light from the awakened Mana clears, Pooka flies over to Tim and the two instantly hug. Tim explains how worried he was that he would never see Pooka again. Pooka explains he is simply Pooka and that he will always be with Tim. This new sense of self has awakened Pooka's full potential and allows him to combine with the rare and powerful gold mediums.
Through the course of the game, Pooka has supported and relied on Tim. This is extremely important for both of them because they are always together. I find it difficult to believe that they would not affect each other after everything they'd been through. Pooka standing up for Tim should have been unheard of! Pooka should have convinced Tim to go through all of the rituals and rites of the Pillar, but he did not. He supported Tim and learned through Tim. It is through Tim that Pooka "awakens" and becomes stronger. Pooka is able to combine with the Guardian Lords and draw upon their powers. For me, this is a way that the Guardians have accepted Tim and Pooka's desire. Instead of removing Pooka from Tim, the Guardians awakened him and wanted them to be together.
With this new Pillar, I feel that the Guardians felt more assured that their will would still be met, that Filgaia would still be protected. I also believe that Tim and Pooka's desire was so strong that even Lucied would have supported their cause had he not been doing something for Anastasia. I believe that this is part of the reason that ultimately led to Pooka's awakening too. If the Guardian of Desire was too busy to assist, the guardians would send someone that could. This is another reason that I believe that Pooka and Lucied has some similarities. I feel that through Pooka's realization that he exists no longer as a sub-spirit and something different than the traditional guardian. I also consider this extremely important since Tim is the first Pillar to live and that calls for a different set of standards and abilities.
Pooka and Hi-Combo
Like Combo, Hi-Combo allows Pooka to merge with gaurdian matrixes and summon. However, Hi-Combo takes all of Tim's force points and can summon one of the Guardian Lords or other special Gold Mediums. Unlike Combo, this skill is specific to Tim and Pooka. Special abilities are still usable by anyone as long as they have the medium equipped.
